Bioster, a.s.
BIOSTER, a.s., is a traditional Czech producer of a wide array of medical devices ranging from specialized military dressing materials, through first aid & rescue programs to Traumastem, a unique product line of haemostats and preparations for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. It maintains a longstanding cooperation with a number of academic institutes, simultaneously putting emphasis on its own scientific development and continuous product innovation. Bioster, a.s. was the first company to introduce a modern cotton-based oxidized cellulose dressing, Traumastem biodress for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. BIOSTER, a.s., is also a provider of radiation sterilization services for the Czech and Slovak market.
History
- 1972 – Radiation Technologies Centre established (Centrum radiačních technologií)
- 1973 – Development of cotton-based oxidized cellulose haemostat TRAUMASTEM launched
- 1981 – New flat form of TRAUMASTEM developed
- 1992 – Rescue program introduced
- 1993–1997 – Development and introduction of special military pocket-size dressings OKAP and MIKROB
- 1998 – BIOSTER, a.s., acquires certificates pursuant to the EU harmonized legislation: ČSN EN ISO 9001:95, EN 46001:98, EN ISO 13485:1996, Council Directive 93/42/EEC, EN 552
- 2001 – TRAUMASTEM S wet introduced – haemostat in a new, spray form
- 2002 – Development of an improved flat form of TRAUMASTEM haemostat launched
- 2004 – Introduction of innovated TRAUMASTEM S dry haemostat in spray form and an improved flat form of TRAUMASTEM
- 2005–2007 – Innovation in the technologies and processing of cotton-based oxidized cellulose production
- 2008 – Introduction of TRAUMASTEM biodress – a modern cotton-based oxidized cellulose dressing for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds
- 2008 – Introduction of the innovative sterile absorbable haemostatic gauze TRAUMASTEM TAF Light
