Fibrous Dysplasia of Ribs and Spine - Multiple Fields Solution

08. 11. 2010

In casuistry of 56-year-old patient with multicentic fibrous dysplasia of 5th and 6th rib the authors demonstrate healing procedures conducted by thoracic surgeon and neurosurgeon. A tumour compressed the right lung and caused breathlessness by creating pleural effusions. A part of the tumour grew into the spinal canal and compressed the spinal cord. The patient had been examined at various departments; a surgical solution was suggested after a spastic paraparesis of lower limbs emerged. In the acute phase during laminectomy the spinal cord compression was released. In the second phase the tumour was extirpated from thoracic wall, with resection of affected parts of ribs and thoracic vertebrae. In the third phase the spine was stabilized with thoracic wall plastic surgery. The tumour of size 60×110×80 mm was 1200 g in weight. A large resection area was a source of difficult-to-stop bleeding; after application of local haemostat Traumastem TAF the blood loss significantly reduced. The result entitles us to recommend a surgical treatment also in case of enormous, benignant tumours in cooperation with other surgical fields

Non-healing Wounds Treatment with Aquacel and Traumastem Biodress Comparison of Efficiency - Final Report

08. 11. 2010

In this article we present results of the prospective, randomized study, comparing the results of the wound local therapy with two dressings: Aquacel and Traumastem Biodress.

Using Traumastem Biodress and Traumastem Biodress Disinfect in Wound Treatment

06. 09. 2010

Traumastem Biodress is a sterile, resorbable dressing from natural oxidised cellulose. It is a modern dressing for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds (chronic leg ulcerations, press ulcers, burns, traumas, etc.). The dressing helps granulation and ephitalisation of the wound and already after 2 weeks the wound area is reduced, i.e. with leg ulcers

Using Innovated Traumastem Biodress in Chronic Wounds Treatment

26. 07. 2010

n spring 2009, during the treatment of chronic wounds, I tested a sterile, resorbable, bioactive dressing Traumastem Biodress. I already introduced my experience with this dressing in combination with Hyiodine in the summer issue if this magazine for nurses. This combination proved successful; only a necessity of using another overlying dressing of the wound was a disadvantage. We tested several various materials but we were not a hundred percent satisfied with the result. Using the sterile square dressing, it was necessary to exchange them more often, which resulted in financial impact but also it was more work for nursing staff. Modern materials with a high absorbency did not need to be exchanged that often, however the financial demands were not acceptable.

Oxidized Cellulose in Treatment of Leg Ulcers

26. 07. 2010

The clinical trial with the purpose to prove the effect of hydrogen-calcium salt of oxidized cellulose during leg ulcers treatment, took place in Surgery Department of The Hospital in Semily in 2008. Patients with chronic leg ulcers of various aetiologies, persisting more than 2 months, were included in this trial.

Clinical Observation of Effectiveness and Safety of Medical Device on Basis of Oxidized Cellulose

26. 07. 2010

The clinical observation was carried out on the basis of predefined and known clinical data, with respect to stated properties of bandaging material. The target group consisted of patients with stagnating shinbone ulcerations of arterial and venous origin as well as diabetic foot. The observation was performed 7.10.2008 – 31.7.2009

Wounds treatment

22. 07. 2010

Operating wound healing disorder represents a serious complication of surgical intervention, prolongs patient´s hospitalization and requires more demanding nursery care. Our experience confirmed that therapy with Traumacel Biodress accelerates dehiscent wounds healing due to its ability of tissue remodelling.

Different ways of leg ulcer treatment - Traumastem Biodress

19. 07. 2010

Ulcerus cruris as a chronic wound can be of various etiology, mostly venous or arterial, possibly of mixed etiology. Sometimes there is not possible to find a primary causation, what results in cases of non-healing leg ulcers, from which a patient suffers for many months or years. Despite of the entire examination effort and a therapy both general and local, whether standard treatment or treatment with modern dressings, repeated hospitalisations and nursery care, these ulcerations heal and recur repeatedly and sometimes they do not heal completely at all. This casuistry concerns a patient from this group, even if we, during continuous observations and examinations, have found other diseases worsening the ulcerations.
