Traumastem Biodress Disinfect (Emoxicel Biodress Disinfect) is a unique dressing designed especially for the initial treatment of infected wounds. Traumastem Biodress Disinfect contains chlorhexidine (0.2–0.5% by weight) – antimicrobial agent, which substantially decreases the bacterial load and the bioactive resorbable dressing that stimulates the healing process. Traumastem Biodress Disinfect consists of the bioactive dressing Traumastem Biodress, non-adherent layer with chlorhexidine and highly absorbent pad.

Traumastem Biodress Disinfect is a combination of bioactive sterile resorbable dressing made on basis of oxidised cellulose and antimicrobial non-adhesive highly absorbent dressing. The dressing is designed for treatment of infected acute, chronic and hard-to-heal wounds. Bioactive dressing 10×10 cm effects significantly metabolic and biochemical processes in the wound and actively effects re-vitalisation of damaged tissue on the basis of its ability to inhibit the matrix metalloproteinase, to activate fibroblasts and to increase the quantity of growth factor. Thanks to this features Traumastem Biodress Disinfectcreates the environment stimulating the healing process.

Chlorhexidine is chemical antiseptic agent destroying wide spectrum of grampozitive and gramnegative bacteria. Combination of antimicrobial and bioactive dressing decreases microbial load, supports cleaning of the wound base and starts and accelerates the process of granulation and ephitelization. Moreover, Traumastem Biodress Disinfect limits the wound foetor and therefore increases the quality of patients´ life before the wound is healed. Due to its haemostatic activity Traumastem Biodress Disinfect is useful to stop bleeding of acute and chronic wounds. Traumastem Biodress Disinfect ensures fast and effective local haemostasia usually within 1–2 minutes, depending on intensity of bleeding. Another very important feature of Traumastem Biodress Disinfect is ability to bind water which ensures the favourable moist microclimate in the wound. When contacted with exudate, hydrogen-calcium salt of oxidised cellulose binds cations by way of the ion exchange mechanism and thereby helps to decrease the loss of ions from the wound.

Bioactive part of dressing (composition hydrogen-calcium salt of oxidised cellulose) of size 10 × 10 is fully biodegradable; it is absorbed within 1 – 4 days after application, depending on quantity of secret and quantity of applied dressing. Application of dressing is very easy and its exchange does not traumatise client.. Traumastem Biodress Disinfect is well tolerated by the organism, is hypoallergenic and does not cause any undesirable immunity reactions.

Indication

Traumastem Biodress Disinfect is designed for the treatment of infected, exuding, painful and non-healing wounds that stagnate in healing.

Contraindication: Application is not suitable for necrotic wounds
